Easy Teaching Days? Don’t Spend Them Sitting!

April 25, 2015

My favorite day this semester is Wednesday. Although it’s my busiest day, I only teach for two hours! It helps me catch up on grading, emails, lesson plans, etc. Sounds great, right? …Not really!

A few weeks ago, I installed Pacer, an iOS app that counts my steps on my iPhone. After a few weeks, I noticed that I only walk 1,000 – 2,000 steps on Wednesdays, compared to an avg of 6,000 steps on other days! This kind of hibernation isn’t healthy or productive, at all.

Doesn’t sound good, right? I know. So just like I do after having pizza hut for lunch, after watching this video and a few others, I promised myself to develop a healthier lifestyle, starting “tomorrow”… which never came. I had a long list of things to do to avoid that hibernation day, but nothing worked. Until I found this helpful infographic (source).

They seem easy and helpful, right? Just make sure nobody is looking when you’re doing them
