Movember 2014 at DMC comes to an end
Glenys KettlewellTeachers at DMC participating in their 3rd consecutive Movember are itching to get their hands on a razor as the awareness raising month comes to an end.
Anthony Martin, Ed Stone, Gary Pathare, Hussam Al Zieni, John Cahill and Phil Lodge, along with a number of other DMC colleagues grew impressive moustaches to help raise awareness of important men’s health issues among students and staff.
A fun and informative video was used in class to get conversations started and it all seemed to be worthwhile.
After showing it to his students, Ed said “The video was a great lead-in to classroom dialogue that touched on several men’s health topics which the students were either unaware of or had not previously considered. They clearly appreciated the opportunity to engage in such a discussion and some of them asked if I could send them a copy of the video. Based on the level of interest, I plan to address some of these issues in class again, without waiting until next November.”
