Community Service Showcase

The Foundations students at Dubai Men’s College came out in full to support the social responsibility efforts of the Bachelor students this week. As part of their Liberal Arts course, the year 1 students had to organize and volunteer for 16 hours of community service work. Each group then displayed their work at a fantastic showcase. Organized by Belinda Southby and Suzanne Bloss, there were over 40 student-stands, as well as a Blood Donation Bus, Takatof and Dubai Cares.
The Foundations department used this opportunity to highlight the role of community work through discussions and videos prior to the event. Then the actual day was spent listening to the different groups, making imovies, looking at the displays, asking questions and voting for the most worthwhile project.
