Foundations Japan Club Sponsors Anime Character Design Workshop
Joseph ManjaAsma Al Romaithi, a remarkable young Emirati innovator and business woman who has chosen to make a career of anime art, was the guest of the Japan Club of Sharjah Women’s College on Tuesday, 24 February when she led a workshop on anime character design for our students.
Asma Al Romaithi, a graduate of Zayed University, is the founder of Asami Art an anime-design media company.
Asma’s instant rapport with over 50 Sharjah Women’s College students was evident as she used creative, interactive and just plain fun ways of engaging our students. Asma used a multimedia presentation to introduce the ladies to the basics of Anime character design. She then went on to challenge them to make anime characters that would be both innovative and unforgettable.
But by far the most important thing that Asma imparted was that of being a role model for our students. Asma demonstrated, by her success as an Emirati innovator, that it was possible-very possible–for our students, with vision, determination and hard work to go on to have successful careers in the United Arab Emirates or any where they chose to live.
Finally, Asma promised our students that she would love to come back and do another Anime Workshop at Sharjah Women’s College.
