On Thursday, February 11th, Abu Dhabi Women’s College Foundations students had an outstanding theater experience at Khalifa City A. All levels convened in the auditorium and from the moment the lights went down students (and teachers alike) were swept away on a Viking adventure. Complete with a 4 person chorus, a bit of comedy and even a Kraken, this hour long musical captivated our students’ imagination. The catchy tunes and hints of romance resulted in a raucous ovation as students clapped and cheered at the end of the show.

All instructors offered appropriate material for their classes in preparation for the show. Level 3 Foundations opened the semester with a review of the simple past, so teachers created a web quest comparing Viking lifestyles and Bedouin lifestyles in which the final product was a Key- note presentation using the simple past to say and show the similarities and differences between the 2. Freya was a huge success which offered a rare opportunity for our students to step inside the world of ancient Scandinavia. With some engaging, student driven pre-show lessons, and an enchanting hour at the theater, this is sure to be remembered as the highlight of the Spring semester for Foundations students at AD Women’s Colleges.
