Sharjah was named the Capital of Islamic Culture for 2014 in recognition of its remarkable contributions in preserving, promoting and disseminating culture at local, Arab and Islamic levels, 

The Mathematics department at the Sharjah Colleges will organize an exhibition to celebrate this remarkable event. Students will apply “Learning by doing” practices, through hands-on activities and projects about Islamic architecture that would include various geometric shapes and designs, and then exhibit their work.
